i.S.P.O.R.T specialises in the analysis of sports movements, technique modification and injury prevention of persons from any level in their natural sporting environment. This is possible through applying protocols from the latest research, and the effective utilisation of portable motion analysis systems. These Sport Science services are not dissimilar to the services offered by Institutes of Sport and are now available to the general public.
Biomechanical Analysis:
- Comprehensive biomechanical analysis of sports movements in your specific sports environment via a video capture session. To make this process more accurate, reflective markers are placed on key joints so joint angles can be identified clearly during the digitising process.
- The biomechanical analysis includes a lesson plan which incorporates audio and graphics of measurements, joint angles and written comments. The biomechanical analysis identifies functional biomechanical factors that may cause musculoskeletal injuries and inefficient sports movement patterns that have an affect on sports performance.
- An injury prevention and management plan is included, which provides a prescription of an easy to follow exercise program. This consists of sport specific stretches, strengthening exercises and drills which helps to develop Technique Modification effectively.
- A detailed report incorporating still shots of your analysis clearly summarises the results. This can be passed on to a referring practitioner or shown to family and friends.
- The biomechanical sports analysis and lesson plan video files are customised for viewing on an interactive CD-ROM. Associated information relating to sports science and footwear is also available on the CD-Rom.
Sports Technique Modification:
- i.S.P.O.R.T provides personalised sports technique modification sessions with specific muscle activation training, and motor skill training. Progressive updates are made to the program. Sports technique modification training sessions are strongly recommended as they ensure the exercises are being executed correctly. They are also a great way to stay motivated and allow for progression from the basic level to the more levels. A substantial discount applies when a technique modification package of five or more sessions have been purchased.
VO2max Tests:
- VO2max (maximum volume of oxygen) is the maximum ability of an individual to take in, transport and utilise oxygen (per minute), by large muscles during exercise. This can be carried out at maximal or sub-maximal intensities in either a laboratory or an outdoor venue.
- Running economy has a substantial influence on performance and can be tested and measured. This test consists of progressive increments in exercise to the point which volitional exhaustion has been reached. Oxygen uptake measures are collected and important information is gained on aerobic fitness levels and heart rate training zones. Recommendations and advice on training strategies are also provided. In addition to the VO2 max test, lactate analysis can also be
Anaerobic Threshold:
- This incorporates the Lactate Threshold, which is tested through a lactate analyser, Respiratory Threshold and Heart Rate Deflection Point, which is tested with a heart rate monitor. Through these thresholds we are able to determine physiological efficiency and performance levels. These measures can also aid in setting accurate running intensities and speeds.
Footwear Analysis:
- A comprehensive practice based consultation where your feet undergo pressure analysis and a video observational gait analysis is carried out. Sports footwear recommendations and education on sports footwear is provided after the analysis is conducted.
